Borghetto and la Casina is a green space just outside the historic center of Florence: when we are in the garden, it feels like we are in the countryside, but as soon as we step out onto the street, we find public transport, shops, and places to eat or simply have coffee. Our location is strategic for those who need to spend time in one of the nearby hospitals - Careggi, CTO, Meyer, Villa Ulivella, and Glicini, etc. - because we offer an optimal environment to avoid adding stress to their days spent there. Even those who come to Florence for tourism or business find the possibility to enjoy the city using public transport from here, as it is possible to leave the car in the garden, avoiding expensive public parking fees and fines for parking restrictions. On the other hand, the internet is not the best, and although we have hosted a couple of digital nomads who worked peacefully, the wifi sometimes acts up.
At Borghetto and la Casina, we strive to behave as environmentally friendly as possible, minimizing waste and the use of toxic products (without compromising hygiene and cleanliness!), and mending sheets or towels instead of throwing them away. We have provided recycling bins near the rooms so that everyone can contribute to cleanliness and decorum. In the garden, we use organic products based on essential oils for plant care and mosquito control: although they are less effective, they allow us to enjoy the presence of all the other lovely little creatures that live in the countryside (including ants, unfortunately). All rooms and bathrooms are equipped with mosquito nets to ensure peaceful nights.
Well-behaved animals are welcome, but we kindly ask to not leave them alone in the room as a general rule. In our Borghetto, three cats and a dog live, and we would like to remind those who are allergic to this.
Breakfast is not included in our room type, but each room is equipped with a kettle for boiling water and all the necessary items for making coffee, tea, and relaxing herbal infusions. In each room, you will also find a glass and a cup for each guest, as well as a bottle of fresh water. The Jolly and Tulip rooms have a large container of "tap" water available, so you won't have to purchase plastic bottles for the duration of your stay!

This is a little Zen room, with no TV nor air con; nevertheless guests have never complained, as the walls are pretty large, and there is a good wi-fi (not always as fast as it should be, though). The private bathroom is in the corridor just in front of the room. With the room come bed and bathroom linen, toilet paper, detergents. Guests can share the living room and spacious kitchen with another room's guests; from the kitchen there is access to a threshing floor dating back to the 1800s, quite suggestive and relaxing, even more so when you think we're in town! This spacious room is really bright, thanks to its two windows, both provided with mosquito nets! There are three single beds and a wardrobe, TV, air con, wi-fi and a little table with a water kettle and some teabags to relax after a day in town. We provide bed and bathroom linen, toilet paper, soap, shampoo and bath foam. Upon request, and according to availability, it is possible to park in the garden.

This is actually a small apartment in the apartment as, besides the bedroom and spacious bathroom, there are a room in between, and a wide wardrobe room. Besides the TV, there is an old air conditioning machine but, using a bit of care during the hot hours, it is possible to sleep cool anyway. At La Casina you'll be comfortable with all you need for a pleasant stay: fresh bed and bathroom linen, TV, air conditioning, ready-to-use kitchenette, mosquito nets, a little private garden with a table and chairs. All guests are welcome also in the big communal garden all around. Upon request, and according to availability, it is possible to park in the garden paying an extra fee.
At Borghetto, Salvia is a flat composed by two bedrooms (Kiwi Kiss and Zesty Zagara), a cosy living room and a spacious furnished kitchen. We try to make sure there is always coffee, sugar and salt, but often guests leave behind their shopping, so that there is always something in storage. Anyway, upon request and according to our schedules, we can arrange a tray for breakfast. For your stay, we provide bathroom and bed linen, besides toilet paper, soap, shampoo and bath foam. Upon request and depending on availability, it is possible to park in our garden.

My name is isabella (with a lowercase letter because I like the dot on the "i") and I live upstairs, so please pay attention to the rules! ;) I speak English and Danish, and I also understand German, French, Spanish, and Portuguese. I love animals, nature, and traveling. In our house, we have two cats and a small dog named Meggie, who is VERY lively.
The Borghetto and the Casina are conveniently located for visiting Florence or staying in the city for work or health reasons. Below are some distances from various places of interest and services. Around our hamlet, you will find private gardens, the university (Engineering), the Cottolengo (now Rsa), three or four convents (the bells compete with the many birds that reside there). From here, you can go down to shops and bars or reach via Bolognese and immerse yourself in the magnificent Tuscan hills - less than 10 km from here, there is a panoramic curve where you can admire one of the most spectacular views of Florence!
