Il Borghetto e la Casina is a perfect retreat just outside the historic centre of Florence: it takes only 30 minutes to walk to Santa Maria Novella church and train station! While taking the bus and tramway the trip is not more than 15 minutes, only on good days though..
Near our place there are cafés, restaurants, shops and supermarkets, and even a public swimming pool for the hottest summer days
Tourists and businesspeople can drive here and then enjoy Florence using public transport: no stressful search for parking places and no fines!
To respect the environment is a main issue for us at The Borghetto e la Casina, therefore we try all the time to reduce waste and to use non-toxic products (but our rooms are clean and sanitized!). We mend towels and sheets when there are little holes in them. In common spaces we have placed containers to collect different kinds of garbage, so our guests can help us in our mission.
The same we do in our garden: to cure plants and to kill mosquitoes, we only use products containing essential oils. They are less effective than chemicals, but who doesn't like to enjoy fireflies, hedgehogs and other lovely animals during our hot summer nights? There are also ants, though, alas..
All our rooms and bathrooms are equipped with mosquito nets anyway, to ensure no-bit nights.
We welcome well-behaved pets, but as a rule they are not allowed to stay home alone.
At the moment, one dog and three cats live with us on these premises.
We are not allowed to give breakfast, but all rooms are equipped with a kettle and what's needed to make coffee, tea or herb tea. All guests will also find glasses and a bottle of fresh water, refillable in the entrance so no one will have to buy plastic bottles during their stay at our place!

This is a little Zen room, with no TV nor air con; nevertheless guests have never complained, as the walls are pretty large, and there is a good wi-fi (not always as fast as it should be, though). The private bathroom is in the corridor just in front of the room. With the room come bed and bathroom linen, toilet paper, detergents. Guests can share the living room and spacious kitchen with another room's guests; from the kitchen there is access to a threshing floor dating back to the 1800s, quite suggestive and relaxing, even more so when you think we're in town! This spacious room is really bright, thanks to its two windows, both provided with mosquito nets! There are three single beds and a wardrobe, TV, air con, wi-fi and a little table with a water kettle and some teabags to relax after a day in town. We provide bed and bathroom linen, toilet paper, soap, shampoo and bath foam. Upon request, and according to availability, it is possible to park in the garden.

This is actually a small apartment in the apartment as, besides the bedroom and spacious bathroom, there are a room in between, and a wide wardrobe room. Besides the TV, there is an old air conditioning machine but, using a bit of care during the hot hours, it is possible to sleep cool anyway. At La Casina you'll be comfortable with all you need for a pleasant stay: fresh bed and bathroom linen, TV, air con, ready-to-use kitchenette, mosquito nets, a little private garden with a table and chairs, and a parking place (upon request, not included in the price, and depending on availability). All guests are welcome also in the big communal garden all around. Upon request, and according to availability, it is possible to park in the garden.
At Borghetto, Salvia is a flat composed by two bedrooms (Kiwi Kiss and Zesty Zagara), a cosy living room and a spacious furnished kitchen. We try to make sure there is always coffee, sugar and salt, but often guests leave behind their shopping, so that there is always something in storage. Anyway, upon request and according to our schedules, we can arrange a tray for breakfast. For your stay, we provide bathroom and bed linen, besides toilet paper, soap, shampoo and bath foam. Upon request and depending on availability, it is possible to park in our garden.

Il Borghetto e la Casina is the perfect place to spend time in Florence whether you are a tourist, or are here for business or health reasons - there is a list of the distances from some places you may need to reach.
Around us there are private gardens, the Faculty of Engineering, a Residence for old people, and some convents whose bells often duet with the many birds.
From here you can either go down to the many cafés and shops, or drive out of the city via the road to Bologna and get lost in our magnificent countryside. A bit less than 10km away from here there is one of the best places you can find for a breathtaking view of the entire city of Florence!
